PLATINUM/PALLADIUM PRINTS
Platinum/palladium photography is one of the most esteemed modes of photographic printing. Platinum prints employ platinum and the closely related palladium salts instead of the much more mutable silver used in most black and white photography. Because of this, platinum prints possess a unique and subtle tonal range that is considered to be the most beautiful of all photographic media. Used extensively at the turn of the century, platinum printing has enjoyed a revival during the past twenty years and is currently a favorite of collectors because of its unique aesthetic qualities and because of the permanence of the image the process produces.
Every print I offer is made on a fine quality water color paper that is hand-coated with a sensitizing solution mixed just prior to the exposure and development of the image. I make every effort to make these pictures fine hand-crafted images that should prove to be enduring heirlooms and objects of beauty for generations.
